P02E3
Diesel intake air flow control (throttle) circuit high
What it means
Diesels have an electronic intake throttle that controls air flow for EGR and DPF regeneration and closes at switch-off to stop the engine shuddering. The throttle motor control circuit voltage is above the valid range.
Symptoms
- engine warning light
- possibly reduced power (limp mode)
- engine may shake when switched off
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | open circuit or short to voltage |
| 02 | failed throttle motor |
| 03 | corroded connector |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect connector and wiring.
- 02Measure motor resistance.
- 03Check for an open circuit or short to voltage.
- 04Replace the throttle unit if faulty.
