• Toyota, Lexus

  Igniter circuit malfunction (No. 1 on applicable ignition systems)

  The engine computer did not receive the expected ignition-confirmation (IGF) signal and may stop fuel injection. Depending on the engine, the fault concerns a separate igniter or a coil with an integrated igniter; it does not always identify cylinder 1.

  Likely causes, most likely first

  1. 01Faulty igniter or ignition coil, depending on the ignition-system design
  2. 02Open circuit, short circuit or poor connection in IGF/IGT wiring
  3. 03Loss of ignition power supply or earth
  4. 04Engine computer fault (rare)
