P0068
MAP/MAF - throttle position correlation
What it means
The air flow the ECU expects from the throttle position does not match what the MAF or MAP sensor measures.
Symptoms
- reduced power or limp mode
- rough idle or stalling
- engine warning light
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | air leak between the throttle body and the engine |
| 02 | dirty or carboned throttle body |
| 03 | faulty MAF or MAP sensor |
| 04 | throttle position sensor fault |
| 05 | intake leak between the MAF and the throttle body |
What to check, step by step
- 01Check for other MAF, MAP or throttle codes and diagnose those first
- 02Smoke-test the intake for leaks before and after the throttle body
- 03Inspect and clean the throttle body, then run the throttle adaptation
- 04Compare MAF/MAP readings with throttle angle in live data
