P0108
MAP/barometric pressure circuit high input
What it means
The MAP/barometric sensor signal voltage is above the circuit threshold. Actual turbo overboost is a separate diagnosis (P0234).
Symptoms
- reduced power or limp mode, especially on turbo engines
- hesitation or uneven running
- higher fuel consumption
- engine warning light
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | signal short to voltage |
| 02 | failed MAP sensor |
| 03 | open sensor ground |
| 04 | ECU input fault |
| 05 | damaged connector or chafed wiring |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect the MAP/boost sensor connector and wiring
- 02Check the 5 V reference, ground and signal at the sensor
- 03Compare the key-on, engine-off reading with local air pressure (about 100 kPa at sea level)
- 04Clean the sensor tip of oil or soot deposits, or replace the sensor if the wiring is good
