DPF pressure sensor A circuit low
What it means
The DPF differential pressure sensor measures the pressure difference across the particulate filter through two hoses. The engine computer uses it to estimate how full the filter is. The signal voltage is below the valid range, which points to an electrical problem.
Symptoms
- engine warning light
- DPF regeneration may not run or may run too often
- possibly reduced power (limp mode)
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | signal wire shorted to ground |
| 02 | missing 5 V reference (often shared with other sensors) |
| 03 | failed sensor |
| 04 | corroded connector or chafed wiring |
What to check, step by step
- 01Check the connector and wiring for chafing against the exhaust or engine.
- 02Measure the 5 V reference and ground at the connector with key on.
- 03Check whether other sensors on the same 5 V supply also have low-voltage codes.
- 04Replace the sensor if supply and wiring are good.
