DPF pressure sensor A circuit high
What it means
The DPF differential pressure sensor measures the pressure difference across the particulate filter through two hoses. The engine computer uses it to estimate how full the filter is. The signal voltage is above the valid range, which points to an electrical problem.
Symptoms
- engine warning light
- DPF regeneration may not run or may run too often
- possibly reduced power (limp mode)
Likely causes, most likely first
| No. | Cause |
|---|---|
| 01 | open sensor ground |
| 02 | signal wire shorted to voltage |
| 03 | failed sensor |
| 04 | corroded or loose connector |
What to check, step by step
- 01Inspect connector and wiring.
- 02Check the sensor ground and signal voltage with key on.
- 03Check the signal wire for a short to 5 V or 12 V.
- 04Replace the sensor if wiring and ground are good.
